Membership is processed yearly with the
fiscal year beginning June 1st and ending May
31st. In order to be recognized on the Convention/Workshop
floor as a member in good standing your dues
must be paid before the event occurs,
generally by the end of April of each year. SCMOTC started in 1968, with
nineteen member clubs and has grown to almost 50 member clubs.
After paying annual club dues, SCMOTC
member clubs receive the following benefits
for their members:
Club subscription to SCMOTC publication, The Bulletin, which is published four times annually. The Bulletin includes a calendar of events, and individual articles. Opportunities to attend SCMOTC Conventions and Workshops. Conventions are held in May. The business of the organization is conducted and election of officers are held. Scholarships are presented to eligible multiple-birth children and/or mothers of multiples. Workshops are held in November each year. A morning business session and afternoon workshops are included in the Workshop. Professional or guest speakers provide members with valuable information on a variety of topics which range from multiple related concerns to various women’s issues. Participation in Moms Merger, which is an event that takes place every five years. SCMOTC and NCA (The Northern California Association of Mothers of Multiples) get together to share and compare ideas, as well as participate in workshops and purchase multiple related items. Mergers are held at a midway location in California. An inter-organizational volleyball game is one of the many highlights. Moms Merger VII will be held in 2010. The SCMOTC Silver Pitcher consists of voluntary donations collected at Convention/Workshop for multiple birth families experiencing financial hardship due to serious illness, prolonged hospitalization, death or other reasons. To be eligible for the silver pitcher program, the recipient(s) must be from a multiple birth family and requested from a member of a member club in good standing of SCMOTC, Inc. Silver Pitcher guidelines and request form is located in the Members Only section. Contact the SCMOTC Chaplain with any additional questions. Club Awards are given out each May for clubs who demonstrate outstanding achievements in club newsletter publications and public relation endeavors. State and Area representatives who excel in their position are also recognized by SCMOTC at the May Conventions. Member clubs in good standing, can have a FREE webpage hosted on SCMOTC's website if your club does not have a web presence of their own. Your web page will be created from information you provide and do all the updates at no charge to your club.
